Last Saturday we headed down to Boulder Colorado to do something fun, adventurous and different. If you've ever watched The Amazing Race, you'll understand how the Urban Adventure Quest Works. Basically its a scavenger hunt around one of 66 different cities across the United States. Yes, you may be able to do Urban Adventure Quest in your own town! Now without giving away many of the details or clues, you will need to bring some things with you so you can solve challenges faster. We forgot to bring a pen and paper, so I tried righting things down in my phone, but a pen and paper would have made it a little easier since I was also recording things with my phone for our youtube channel. You also need your smartphone to play the game. When you sign into Urban Adventure Quest you will start off at a point of interest and be given a question to answer about the specific location you are in, or a challenge to complete. Once you answer the question or complete the challenge you move on to the next question. The phone app will direct you where to go for each question. It can take two to three hours to get through all the challenges. Here's the highlight reel of our fun scavenger hunt:
One of the things I loved about the Adventure Quest was being able to do it while the Farmer's Market was going on. I was able to stop and buy some honey with turmeric in it. While my 6-year-old wasn't quite into the game, my nine-year-old really liked helping us find clues and solve some of the questions. Now our team didn't make the leaderboard, but it wasn't really about winning for us. It was more about doing something fun as a family. Each city has a top ten team leaderboard and you can play the game competitively if you want. With each question, you answer you get points. If you happen to need a hint to answer a question, you are docked points, so pay attention to details. If you can get through the game in under two hours you stand a chance to be on the leaderboard.

You'll have to remember to look down because some clues, you'll find on sidewalks.[/caption]
Tips for Playing the Game and What you'll want to bring with you:
So how much does it cost to play the Urban Adventure Quest? Just $49 bucks! Many people spend more just going out to dinner, so you might as well get a group of people together, have everyone chip in some money to play the game and be a tourist in a city near you!
